We’re hiring a Marketing & Social Media Coordinator!

Unnamed Press is an independent publisher of fiction, nonfiction, and poetry. Our office is located in Highland Park in Los Angeles alongside our bookshop, North Figueroa Books. We are seeking an energetic new addition to the team who loves books, but most importantly, loves to convince others to read. This is a great opportunity for a candidate to get a taste of every aspect of publishing from editorial to distribution.

The Marketing & Social Media Coordinator is responsible for oversight of the publisher's brand and communications channels, focused on connecting with our audience in creative ways, improving traffic, followers, and direct sales. In addition, the role will handle select PR responsibilities, fun side projects, and direct collaboration with our classics imprint Smith & Taylor Classics.

Key aspects of the job include:
*Designing, writing and scheduling communications including social media, press releases, and newsletter announcements;
*General Social Media oversight – growing our audience, increasing engagement, and increasing sales;
Creative direction and expansion of social media (TikTok, Reels, etc), with a particular focus on original video content;
*Campaign creation for direct sales – creating regular opportunities for sales of our titles through direct engagement with our audience, and collaboration with third-party partners and organizations;
Setting goals for the above-stated growth, in collaboration with the team;
*Other company communications, like monthly newsletters, and increased targeted newsletter outreach to select audiences (like booksellers or librarians);
*Coordinating and moderating recorded conversations for the Smith & Taylor classics imprint;
*Coordinating select PR for flagship imprint, mainly trades; managing certain press release functions;
*Supporting / coordinating with / tracking outside publicists;
*Events management and coordination (where necessary).

Job Requirements:
*1-2+ years experience
*Tech and social media savvy
*Curiosity and a growth mindset
*Reliable transportation
*Lives in the Los Angeles area

The part-time hourly pay for this position is $21/hour for a minimum of 24 hours to start. Approx. 3 days a week with room to grow.
